Mecalia DPI/DI Buffer Tank made of AISI 304 stainless steel, designed to store energy (heat or cold) in the primary circuit and improve the hydraulic stability of heating and cooling systems. Helps reduce start/stop cycles and optimize performance when working with heat pumps, boilers, or solar energy systems.
Not suitable for domestic hot water (DHW). Intended for use in a closed circuit and vertical floor installation.
Main Features
- Constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel.
- Maximum working pressure: 6 bar.
- Working temperature range: from -10 to 90 ºC.
- Thermal insulation with injected rigid polyurethane foam (HCFC-free).
- Exterior finish in PVC or semi-rigid polyester (depending on capacity).
- For tanks up to 500 liters (inclusive): 4 female threaded connections.
- Installation recommendation: always install safety valves in the system.
Dimensions and Weight
- Capacity: 150 liters
- Diameter (A): 520 mm
- Height (B): 1,213 mm
- Weight: 29 kg
Hydraulic Connections
The tank is equipped with female threaded ports for integration into the circuit. In the 150-liter model, the connections are:
- Connection 1–7 (vent / thermometer port): 1/2"
- Connection 2 (safety valve): 1/2"
- Connections 3–6 (heat circuit supply / return): 1 1/2"
- Connections 4–8 (cold circuit supply / return): 1 1/2"
- Connection 5 (drain): 3/4"
Recommended Applications
- Heating systems with boilers or heat pumps that require a higher water volume in the primary circuit.
- Cooling systems (chilled water) to stabilize system operation.
- Systems with solar input and multiple consumers, where hydraulic separation between generation and demand is needed.
Installation Notes
- Vertical and floor-mounted installation.
- Use in closed circuit. Not for DHW.
- Integrate safety components into the circuit according to regulations and best practices (including the safety valve).
